This year’s computer lab donation will go to the Prathertown Community Development Corporation (Prathertown CDC), a nonprofit agency dedicated to supporting neighbors in underserved areas (especially those without access to public transit or safe sidewalks). Prathertown CDC plans to use the lab to offer residents training in digital literacy, community education, connectivity, and job readiness skills. With a dedicated computer facility, Prathertown’s volunteers can deliver services more effectively and help empower their community.

The refurbished computer lab, donated and reconditioned by MCSITF students, includes six refurbished computers complete with operating systems, monitors, keyboards, mice, and a printer. The project also provides a valuable hands-on learning experience for students in the Network Operations program. Through refurbishing and installing the lab, students apply real-world IT skills, earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, and gain a deeper understanding of community service and professional responsibility.
