On Saturday, April 25, our community came together to celebrate Earth Day with energy, teamwork, and a shared commitment to a greener future. Volunteers of all ages in partnership with our Maryland Corps members showed up ready to make a difference, and they delivered in a big way. A special thanks to Councilmember Dawn Luedtke and Women's Commissioner Sheena Foster for joining us! The community learned Civics smarts with help from our speakers!
Together, we collected 24 bags of trash from Prathertown as part of our Adopt a Road commitment, helping restore and protect our local environment. At the same time, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to pot a wide variety of plants, marking an exciting step forward for our very first greenhouse project. Sponsorships, partnerships, and donations of soil, seeds, plans, tools, and monetary contributions are welcome and necessary for sustainability.
One of the most memorable moments of the day came when everyone pitched in to move a large trampoline to help support the event setup. It was a perfect example of the collaborative spirit that defined the day, neighbors helping neighbors, making the work lighter and a lot more fun!
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and helped make this Earth Day such a success. We will continue to work diligently to expand our sustainability and green business initiatives in and around Prathertown!
