Prathertown Community Development Corporation Receives Grant from Truist Foundation to Expand Workforce Development

Gaithersburg, MD – Prathertown Community Development Corporation (PCDC) is proud to announce that it has received a generous grant from the Truist Foundation to support its new workforce development program, Project Management in Prathertown (PMP). This initiative is designed to empower high school students and early-career community members with essential project management skills, preparing them for success in a rapidly evolving job market.
Project Management in Prathertown (PMP) will provide participants with hands-on experiential learning opportunities in areas that matter most to our community, including:
Conservation and Historic Preservation
Fighting Food Insecurity
Technical Support and Digital Security
Environmental Stewardship and Climate Justice
Community Safety
Aging in Place
Financial Literacy
Housing Attainment
Consumerism
Through this program, participants will gain practical experience managing real-world projects while developing leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. These competencies are critical for building sustainable careers and strengthening the economic resilience of Prathertown and surrounding communities.
