Montgomery County, Maryland Recognizes Prathertown Community Development Corporation as a Village.
We’re proud to share exciting news: Prathertown Community Development Corporation (CDC) has officially been recognized by Montgomery County, Maryland as a Senior Village—a milestone that honors our commitment to supporting older adults in our community with compassion, dignity, and connection.
What Is a Senior Village?
A Senior Village is a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization that helps older adults age in place—safely, independently, and with a strong sense of belonging. These villages are built on the idea that neighbors helping neighbors can make all the difference.
With this recognition, Prathertown CDC joins a network of over 50 Senior Villages across Montgomery County, each working to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for seniors.
Services We Offer
As a Senior Village, Prathertown CDC provides a range of free or low-cost servicesdesigned to meet the evolving needs of older adults:
Transportation Assistance: Rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, and community events
Friendly Visits & Wellness Checks: Combatting isolation with regular social interaction
Home Maintenance Help: Light repairs, yard work, and safety assessments
Technology Support: Help with smartphones, computers, and virtual connections
Social & Educational Programs: Workshops, game nights, and cultural outings
These services are powered by local volunteers who generously donate their time and talents to uplift our senior neighbors.
